Karim Karimi, CEO of Alborz Industrial City Company, stated during the ceremony: "When I first arrived as CEO of the company, we identified the main problems of the complex, one of the most important of which was the accumulation of about 300,000 tons of waste in the company's treatment plant, which had not been considered a place to transfer it since its establishment."

He added: "The embankments around the company's treatment plant were also not able to handle the volume of this sludge, and there was a risk of it overflowing into neighboring agricultural lands and causing environmental damage to the province at any moment."

Karimi clarified: "To solve this problem, several meetings were held with officials from the Qazvin Governorate, the Alborz County Governorate, and the judiciary, and ultimately a land area of 4.7 hectares was provided to the company at the Mohammadabad site to create a landfill."The CEO of Alborz Industrial City Company continued: After preliminary studies and selection of a contractor, the implementation operations began. Considering the technical conditions of the three-layer landfill (textile, G-membrane and GCL) and the requirement to implement it in the dry season, the completion of the project took some time.

Karimi noted: Finally, the first phase of the special landfill for Alborz Industrial City Company was put into operation in 18 months on a land area of 1.3 hectares and a height of 6 meters, with a credit of over 20 billion Tomans, and it has the ability to increase the height to 16 meters.

He added: It is expected that the first phase of this landfill will meet the needs of Alborz Industrial City Company for the next 20 to 30 years, but nevertheless, if necessary, the second phase will also be implemented. The CEO of Alborz Industrial City Company, referring to the importance of the environment, said: Alborz Industrial City Company, as the first and greenest industrial city in Iran, has taken an important step towards protecting the environment by creating this landfill and has resolved the 30-year-old problem of the treatment plant.

In the end, he appreciated the efforts of provincial and county officials, the judiciary, and all those involved in this project.
